Mustard Seeds

Description

Both white and brown mustard seeds are approximately spherical, coarsely pitted, odourless when whole, and strong in flavour. Mustard seeds are small, round, and pale yellow; their diameter is roughly 2.5 mm (0.1 inches). Size-wise, brown mustard seeds and their yellow counterparts are virtually identical.
Yellow mustard seeds and the potent colouring ingredient turmeric give it its vibrant yellow hue. These two components make a thick, squeezable sauce by combining them with vinegar, water, and occasionally some other mild spices.
